My morning running routine- Whole 30 version

Happy Wednesday!! Or as my training calendar says 5 miles will pace pick ups.

My mornings start with my phone going off at about 4:50 am. I give myself 10 more minutes in bed. Whether I check my phone or fall back asleep but my alarm goes off again at 5:00 am which is my "get your butt out of bed" alarm.

First up is coffee! Every run, everyday, forever.

Since doing the Whole 30 I have been drinking my coffee black (boo!) without almond milk and stevia. Depending on how hungry I feel and how long my run is I will think about having a snack. Right now my default is 1/2 to 1 banana with a solid scoop of almond butter.

It normally gets my stomach ready and my energy levels up. Which is the critical part of this whole routine. Being a runner means you are open to talking about poop. Without going I cannot start running.

While sip my coffee I normally check all the usual social media accounts (twitter, instagram, facebook, snapchat).

This can become a large time suck so I make sure that I am off the couch no later that 5:30 am. Next up is to grab my gear. It can vary day to day what I wear but the rest of my gear is the same. Here's what I got on me at all times

GPS Watch- Garmin Forerunner 220

Smart Watch- Apple Watch Sport

Activity Tracker- FitBit Alta

Headphone- Jaybird Bluebird X

Phone Belt- FlipBelt

Running Shoes- ASICS Gel Cumulus 17

Once I'm all set I'm out the door!
